This makes me think of something like Alita: Battle Angel.

Like maybe she's a robot that was just barely activated and she's taking in her surroundings. She can see the dust motes in the sunlight and tries to touch them, but they just swirl through and around her fingers. Then she notices that she can actually feel the warmth of the sun on her fingers.

I imagine the next thing she does is to turn her face into the sun, squinting her eyes against the glare, then slowly closes them and lets a small smile blossom into a full grin.

"That's the sun." Her creator tells her. 

"The sun? What is it?"

"It's a star just like billions of others, but without it, life wouldn't exist on our planet. It's warm and beautiful and comforting, yet it can be dangerous as well."

"It is many things. Like many others. But different. Necessary."

"Yes. It's like you, in that way, and you are like it."

"I am?"

"Yes. Do you like it?"

"Yes. I think that I like that I am like it."

"It can be your name if you like."

"My name? My name is to the be 'the Sun?'"

"No. We shall call you Sunny."

"Hm. Sunny. Yes, I think I will like that name."
